SPORTS AND FITNESS LAWYERS DEFENSE TEAM
Well you heard it first at the Sports and Fitness Lawyers Zone Defense Program on February 7 in Vegas. Audience members heard CPSC Commissioner Joe Mohorovic predict the resignation of CPSC Chairman Democrat Elliott Kaye and the succession of Republican Ann Marie Buerkle to the Chairmanship.
The announcement read: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Friday that Ann Marie Buerkle has been tapped as its acting chair, taking the reins from Commissioner Elliott Kaye, who had served as its chair since 2014. Mohorovic further predicted that while Kaye would stay on, Republican control would slowly edge in with the departure of Democrat Marietta S. Robinson in October, 2017. At that point President Trump will nominate a new Republican, changing the majority on the Commission to the GOP.
Commissioner Buerkle is well known for her opposition to the huge fines the CPSC has been issuing for late reporting. She has also challenged claims that "IF IN DOUBT, REPORT" makes sense due to the "foggy" criteria used by the Agency.
If you had been with us last week, you would have known this days ago. Keep watching for Sports and Fitness Defense Team announcements, programs and blogs at: www.sportsandfitnesslawyers.com
